i've been wanting to try out some different embellishments for my clips and headbands, so this past saturday night i spent some quality time in my studio letting the creativity flow.
i definitely wanted to incorporate some ribbon elements, so i made this sweet little pink bow for a little girl's headband. i just think it's so simple and darling.

i also made this gingham ribbon ruffle then added tulle, felt, and a fancy button. i just made it up as i went. i like it because it's a bit different. i've never seen anything just like it, but it still fits in the vein of frilly hair accessories that are so popular right now.

i also wanted to use tulle in another way...i always end up doing the tulle accent ruffle behind the flower. so this time, i wrapped a fabric rosette in black tulle. i think it turned out really elegant. i love the tulle and the pearl beads with the black, white, and gray color scheme.

i also wanted to challenge myself to use colors i don't normally wear myself. yellow and pale pink aren't the most flattering colors on me, but they are so cute together. plus, i had picked up these adorable fabrics at a quilt shop a few weeks ago and they were begging to be used.
this color scheme reminds me of lemonade. how sweet would this cheery headband be on a little girl? (if i had a little girl i would keep it for myself!)

i loved the little headband so much, i made a clip with the same fabrics.

this way, women and girls of all ages can partake of the lemonade cuteness. :)
