conference roundup...

here's some of my favorite bits of wisdom i gleaned from this fall's general conference...
  • continue in faith despite disappointments.
  • take care of the essential things that will save you. prioritize.
  • in due time, you will receive all the blessings of the faithful. your time without will seem "but a small moment."
  • the Lord loves you. he knows your hopes and your disappointments. He will not forget you.
  • the Lord loves each of His children perfectly, individually, and personally.
  • bear one another's burdens. comfort those in need of comfort. mourn with those that mourn.
  • appearances can be deceiving...such a poor measure of a person.
  • "if you judge people, you have no time to love them."
  • you are individually loved by God. no one of you is insignificant.
  • we do not need to be perfect, just honest and sincere.
  • follow the prophet and be blessed, or not and suffer.
  • true success comes in consecrating our lives to the Lord.
  • all honest work is the work of God.
  • focus on the things that matter most.
  • in the family, love is spelled t-i-m-e.
  • choose faith. choose faith over doubt. choose faith over fear. choose faith over uncertainty. choose faith over pessimism.
  • our very salvation hangs on following the prophet.
  • approached with faith, challenges can bring us closer to the Savior.
  • character is not developed in times of trial...that is when it is intended to be used.
  • be thankful that God sometimes allows you to struggle for a long time, for that is when your faith grows.
  • lack of trust in God brings sadness.
  • moral standards cannot be changed by battle or by ballot.
  • strengthen your faith daily through scripture study and prayer.
  • do we focus on what we lack rather than what we have? how careful we should be to cultivate, through a prayerful life, and attitude of thankfulness.
  • these daily habits are prerequisites to receiving the Holy Ghost--praying, studying, gathering, worshiping.
  • establish righteous habits in the home--family prayer, family scripture study, family home evening, family dinner, one-on-one interviews.
  • lift your vision daily.
  • how will our names be remembered?
  • "i can do all things through Christ"

  1. Thanks for posting this, Kacey! As expected, I had a bit of a rough weekend, but I'm feeling better now, so it was nice to read through these in a better state of mind! :) hugs!
