style selection: doilies/lace

Can I just say that I hope feminine details stay in style for a looooong time?  I think back to when I was in high school and the "cool" thing to do was wear crappy thrifted t-shirts...I wouldn't have been caught dead in lace or ruffles.  But now I love those girly details!  So here are my picks for this week's style selection: doilies/lace...

This doily rose necklace is perfect for spring.
Etsy seller loleys made the lovely pendant using birch, a paper doily, vintage seam binding and a lucite bead.  So, so pretty.  Available for $24.

This DIY doily notecard idea comes from the blog avie designs.
She came up with this tutorial to make valentines, but I these would work for party invites or just everyday stationary.

I'm a big fan of DownEast Basics.
Their lace lover tee in white just screams spring, doesn't it?  It comes in several colors and costs $14.99.

I found this image via Pinterest.
These pancakes were made by putting the batter in a squirt bottle and "drawing" the design onto the hot griddle.  What a pretty breakfast!

This beauty is available from Etsy seller liesl.
This adorned navy ticking tote is on sale for $17.  I love the doily with the stripes.

This naomie lace necklace is another Etsy find.
Wouldn't you feel so fancy wearing this?  Whiteowl offers this piece for $29.

These doily dress cards are just darling.
They would make great baptism or bridal shower invitations.  I found the image via the craftzine blog.

And if you want to make your own paper lace...
This cricut cartridge would be great for some pretty cardmaking/scrapbooking.  (But I want one to make freezer paper stencils!)  The Amazon.com price is currently $35.73.

Now go add some lacy details to your life.  It's spring, people!

valentine's day doily garland...

i'm not a "go all out for valentine's day" person.
(i mean...it's not christmas. you know what i'm sayin'?)

so if i'm going to decorate, it needs to be super simple.
this project took me all of five minutes.  i'd say that's pretty simple.

the supplies are cheap and easy, too...
heart doilies, mini clothes pins, whatever ribbon or string you've got lying around, and a couple of command hooks.

stick those hooks on the wall, hang your ribbon, clip on some doilies, and pat yourself on the back.

nothing is attached permanently, so you can take it apart for storage or even use the parts for another project next year.
