Christmas printables...

We got our first snow of the winter season last week. Even though we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet, I caved and turned on the Christmas music while drawing with my son as the snowflakes fell outside.

And I also made some Christmas-y printables for my Etsy shop.
I couldn't help myself!

(Don't worry - I adore Thanksgiving and will celebrate it properly despite my premature Christmas carol enjoyment.)

I looooooove the movie Elf. It's delightfully quotable.

And words from a classic carol seemed perfect for this simple design.

Has it been wintery where you live?
If so, I hope you are all warm & cozy and excited for the holidays!
(If you're from upstate NY--bless your heart!)

just making new stuff...

I have been focusing the brief moments I have to create on making items for my Etsy shops, hence the lack of project tutorials and printables on the ol' blog.  But I miss my dear blog!  So I'll have to get my seasonal decor juices flowing now that fall is right around the corner.  I love decorating for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Such a fun, crafty time of year!

Anyway, I thought I'd post a few peeks at what I have been making...
Cute mermaids & ballerinas,

Inspirational quotes,

Some doodle-y alphabets,

Darling baby/toddler ties,

And a whole bunch of mini bows in all kinds of colors.

See all of my merchandise at The Printable Pearl & Kaceface Sewing & Accessories.

Hope you are all enjoying the final days of summer!

animal nursery art prints...

I've been drawing some cute little animal artworks to add to my print shop--The Printable Pearl.

I think they would look darling in a baby's room!

Although this bunny would be perfect for spring/Easter decorating, too.
And foxes are supposed to de-throne the owl as the trendy nursery decor animal this year...

But don't worry, I drew some owls, too.
(Just in case you hadn't had your fill of them yet.)
I've done each print in 2 colorways to list in the shop...but they are easily customized to match whatever color scheme one might be decorating with.

What other animals should I add to the collection?

where i've been (a.k.a. introducing The Printable Pearl)...

I've spent the last two months working on a crazy little idea I had.

And after running after a very active toddler all day, I often don't have the energy to sit at my sewing machine or craft table to work on a big project.  I just want to veg on the couch!

Fortunately, I realized that couch surfing is quite conducive to doodling in a sketchbook.  I've always loved to draw...and I've been experimenting with hand lettering for as long as I can remember.  So I decided to put my doodles to work.  I'm excited to announce my latest Etsy endeavor--The Printable Pearl!

I'm selling my designs as instant downloads.  You can purchase the images as digital files and then print them as many times as you want, at home or at your favorite print shop/photo lab.

I have cute nursery prints...

and quotes...

and cheerful home decor.

I have many more things in the works, as well.
I'm excited to keep adding new designs!

I might be a little bit crazy starting another shop, but it's been fun putting it all together.  I just opened up a few days ago, so I'd love it if you would click over and check out The Printable Pearl.

(And now that I've got the initial shop set-up done, I'm ready to get back to some blog projects, too!!)

Thanks, everyone! :)

baby neckties...

This past Sunday, I decided my baby needed a tie to wear to church.
So, obviously, I whipped up a poster board template and stitched one together on the spot.

It was so fun, I've spent all of my spare time this week sewing a slew of baby ties!

One kid probably doesn't need dozens of neckties, so I decided to start selling them in my etsy shop.  Watch for all kinds of patterns and colors to be listed in the "Ties" section in the next few days!

Who says baby boys don't have any cute accessories?!

earring giveaway from Ivy Lane Accessories...(CLOSED)

I am SUPER excited about the giveaway I have for you guys this week.

Ivy Lane Accessories is a newly opened Etsy shop filled with the most darling fabric-covered button earrings at affordable prices.  I mean, who can resist these beauties?

Gina, the shop owner, sent me a pair to try out and I honestly love them.

They come in a small box, on a darling colored card--perfect for gift giving.
(Wouldn't these be great little birthday gifts or stocking stuffers?!)

Also, I have extremely sensitive ears, so I wondered if these little cuties would work for me.  I normally have to buy sterling silver earrings, but the nickel-free posts are awesome!  I can wear them all day and they don't cause any irritation for me at all.  (Score!)

Gina has kindly offered to give TWO winners a pair of earrings of their choice!

To Enter:  Visit Ivy Lane Accessories and leave a comment on this post about the earrings you would choose if you win.  (BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!)

Additional Entries: Favorite Ivy Lane Accessories on Etsy, Add Ivy Lane Accessories to your circle on Etsy, or follow Stay-at-Home Artist via RSS feed or GFC.  Leave separate comments on this post for each entry. (BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!)

The giveaway will be open until Friday, July 13th at noon (Mountain Time).

floral bobby pins...

Like I've mentioned recently, I'm working on all kinds of new stuff for my accessories shop on Etsy.  (Christmas is coming!)

I'm pretty much madly in love with these bobby pin sets...

These are a great for pinning back bangs or short layers.  It's a simple and classy way to wear a flower in your hair and I've got multiple color pairings available.

Now I need to get some more blank pins, because I'm planning on making about a million of these for myself!
