book worm...

reading is one of the constants in my life. i love reading new books that have that fresh papery smell, old favorites that i haven't picked up in years, worn and tattered books from second hand shops that bear the signs of being well loved, popular books that cause mass hysteria, classic books on every "must read" list, even borrowed books from the library or a fellow book worm.

i just finished re-reading Anne of Green Gables and the other 7 books in the Anne series. and can i just say that i loved every word? you know it's a good series when you feel like you belong with the characters. i feel that i am anne, almost.

(it was the same with Harry Potter. i swear i went to hogwarts. i am NOT a muggle.)

now i just started a compilation of the published works of lewis carroll. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has been a treat. i just got done being anne shirley but already i must be alice...things are getting curiouser and curiouser!
or perhaps i am the white rabbit...oh dear! oh dear! I shall be too late!
those of you who aren't big into books, probably think i sound ridiculous. but i can really just lose myself in a book. and anne did always claim that her books were some of her dearest friends.

i'd have to agree.

  1. Ah, but have you read Anne's prequel?
