Hey Kacey! So, in response to your comment on my post, I just wanted to say thanks for all the info on your experience! Seriously, it's good to get perspectives. I'm still a little on the fence about what capacity I want to teach in so all the advice I can get helps. And I love that you were blunt about the less-than-ideal aspects of the job. Honestly, the potential things that bug me are just dealing with the intellectual capacity of teenagers (does that sound mean? I guess I wonder if teaching at a college level would be more fulfilling) and just the fact that teachers aren't paid well. At the same time I kind of feel pulled to it in a spiritual way. I never even thought about lack of respect from administrators, etc. That sounds awful!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I pick your brain more? I guess my main question is if you were to go back and do things over again, would you have chosen a totally different path? Or do you think the teaching experience was still valuable...even in getting you where you are now?
