My friend and former roomie Jenna T. requested a post containing my recipe for Snickers Salad. And since I scored both apples and grapes on sale this week, I was happy to oblige.
This dish is a combo fruit salad/pudding dessert that's a big hit at our house and it's a breeze to prepare. Plus, the recipe makes a big ol' bowl, so it's great to take to an end-of-summer BBQ.
Snickers Salad
Ingredients:
1 cup cold milk
1 large box instant vanilla pudding
1 tub Cool Whip
2 tart apples
4 sweet apples
1 cup green grapes
1 cup red grapes
8 fun size Snickers candy bars
In a large mixing bowl, prepare the vanilla pudding using the cup of cold milk, then fold in Cool Whip. Next, core and slice the apples into bite size chunks and add into the pudding mixture. (Coating the apples in the pudding mixture prevents them from turning brown, so stir in each cut apple as you go.) Halve the grapes and add them in as well. Unwrap the little candy bars and chop them into small pieces. Fold them into the salad and refrigerate until chilled.
Additionally, if you don't want to make a whole salad, the pudding/Cool Whip mixture makes a delicious fruit dip!
YAY!!! I'm so glad you posted this recipe! I am making it soon. Thanks Kacey!
